Glue the template to and around the ball.Īdd the minions hair. I was conservative and actually let the ice cream cone dry overnight as this was going to be a 2 day craft, but in reality the cone will dry definitely within an hour.Īfter the cone is firmly adhered to the ball it is time to add your googly minions eyeglasses. This is the benefit of clear drying glue as this step can be messy, but you don’t have to be perfect. I also put glue on the actual edge of the ice cream cone. Line the inside of the ice cream cone edge with glue. I use Weldbond a clear drying non toxic glue (I use Weldbond for all crafts), but feel free to use your preferred glue. Once the paint is dry attach the ice cream cone with minion wrapper to the styrofoam ball. Simply add glue to each edge of the paperclip and insert into the styrofoam ball to make your christmas tree hanger. While the paint is drying (and the paint dries quick usually within 10-15 minutes) download and print the googly eye printable for your eye glasses template. You can see the results! I love using the foam paint brushes for craft and DIY projects. Paint the Styrofoam balls with yellow acrylic paint. Plan ahead as to how you will let the ball dry I used a styrofoam cup to set the freshly painted ball on to dry. This is to use as a handle to paint the ball with bright yellow acrylic paint. Insert a toothpick into the Styrofoam ball. The gloves are optional, but painting a round object can be messy! So much easier to clean up by using disposable gloves.
